Mikhaila Tamplin
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Mik is a paediatric Occupational Therapist with over four years of experience across the allied health sector, supporting children and families to build skills, confidence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.
Mik has worked with children and young people aged 2 to 18 years, delivering therapy that is individualised, graded, and goal-focused to each child’s unique needs. Mik has a strong passion for sensory processing and trauma-informed care, and she is committed to providing therapy that is neuroaffirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive. Her approach prioritises safety, respect, and connection, creating a supportive therapeutic environment where children feel understood, valued, and empowered to be themselves.
Mik’s practice is child-led and relationship-based, driven by evidence-informed frameworks and ongoing professional development. She has completed extensive training, including DIR®/Floortime™, and continues to pursue further learning to ensure high-quality, contemporary care for children and families. Mik values collaboration with families, educators, and other professionals, recognising that meaningful progress occurs when therapy is embedded within a child’s everyday environments. Her goal is to support children to develop the skills they need to participate confidently at home, school, and in the wider community.
Outside of work, Mik enjoys spending time with her partner and three pets (two dogs and a cat), gaming, playing guitar, and getting outdoors camping/4x4ing whenever possible.
